Buddhist Temple Building Fund Needs Your Help

THE Putra Heights Buddhist Society needs another RM4.5mil to complete its 4-storey temple in the township according to its chairman Khor Chin Chew.

Earlier plans to carry out public fundraising drives in 2020 had been curtailed by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Earthworks and piling on site have however been completed.

“The temple will house the shrine hall, meditation hall, administrative office and reception, kitchen, library, classrooms, function rooms and living quarters for the monks.”

“We managed to raise RM600,000 for the first phase of the construction and that the work has been completed,” he said.

According to Khor, the temple will cater to Buddhists especially those living in Putra Heights when it is completed.

“The completion of the temple has been delayed because of the pandemic and our inability to carry out fundraising events for this purpose. We expect the temple to be ready in three to four years’ time.”

“We need to raise RM4.5mil for the entire project and to finally have a Buddhist temple for the community in Putra Heights and those in the neighbouring areas,” Khor said.

The society is a community-based Buddhist Fellowship serving Buddhists in Putra Heights, Alam Megah (Sek 27/28 Shah Alam), parts of Puchong and USJ Subang Jaya. The temple is pragmatically designed to additionally provide a conducive environment for Primary Buddhist Education, Youth Development, Social & Cultural Activities, Physical & Health Promoting and Lifelong Education Endeavours.

Khor appealed for public donations to help raise the needed funds to complete the project.

Donations can be made to PUTRA HEIGHTS BUDDHIST SOCIETY SELANGOR, Hong Leong Bank A/C No: 22100006809.
