Christmas Comes Early for Children with Cancer

CHRISTMAS came early for underprivileged children who are suffering from cancer thanks to Fitline Malaysia.

In conjunction with Children’s Day and the upcoming Christmas celebrations, FitLine Malaysia donated RM500,000 to the Children’s Home of Hope at the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) to help underprivileged children in their fight against cancer.

Children as young as one-year-old from around the country can have their treatment subsidised and accommodation take care of by NCSM.

Paul Yung, CEO of FitLine Malaysia has been an avid supporter of NCSM since 2016 with this being the largest donation to date. “I lost my Aunty and all four of my grandparent-in-laws to cancer, so this is a very personal topic for me. I hope that this sum will help more children fight and beat the disease.”

FitLine is a German Nutrition Supplements company that has been operating in Subang Jaya, Malaysia since 2003. From 2018, FitLine has been working with NCSM for breast cancer awareness events like Pink October and supporting the Children’s Home of Hope, CHH.

“I believe in early detection and prevention. Unfortunately, in most cases involving children, there cannot be early detection or prevention as they are too young. That’s what inspired us to support CHH. The amazing staffs at NCSM and CHH do their best for the children and their parents who give the best chance for recovery,” Yung said.

NCSM President Dato’ Dr Saunthari Somasundaram and Managing Director, Dr M. Murallitharan were present to receive the donation from FitLine Malaysia.

“On behalf of NCSM, we express our heartfelt thanks to FitLine who have consistently supported NCSM for many years and many events. The monies will help our Children’s Home of Hope for one year of operational costs and peripheral upgrade works such as bed frames and sensory toys for the children. What an amazing Christmas gift from FitLine!” Dr Murali said.

“We sincerely thank all of our distributors for making this happen. Every child deserves the best chance to fight cancer” Yung added.

In addition to the donation, FitLine prepared 20 Christmas gifts consisting of blankets, neck pillows and plush toys to soothe the children through hours of gruelling chemotherapy.
