Don’t Forget to Register Your Home With Police Before You Travel for CNY & Fasting Month — Subang Jaya OCPD Urges Residents

If you’re planning to leave your house empty for the upcoming festive season whether you’re heading out for the Chinese New Year holidays or gearing up for the fasting month balik kampung rush—here’s one simple step that could help keep your home safer while you’re away.
Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat reminded residents to register with the police under the “Balik Kampung, Rumah Selamat” campaign, so police personnel can conduct checks on registered homes during major holidays.
“If you are joining the balik kampung exodus this holiday, don’t forget to sign up for the initiative. We will have personnel check on your homes regularly while you are away,” he said.
According to him, police operations such as Ops Selamat and Ops Cegah Jenayah will involve frequent and regular patrols, including visits to homes that have been registered during festive periods.
“Ops Selamat/Ops Cegah Jenayah will involve frequent and regular patrols to homes which are registered with us during festivals,” he said.
How to register for “Balik Kampung, Rumah Selamat”
Wan Azlan said residents can sign up using any of these methods:
1. Fill up the balik kampung form and drop it off at the police station nearest to your home;
2. Register via the Police Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) system; or
3. Call IPD Subang Jaya’s operations centre at 03-78627100
Planning a long trip, leaving lights off for days, and posting your holiday photos in real-time can sometimes make homes an easier target; so registering ahead of time is a small move that can go a long way.
