Grab a Durian for a Good Cause

SUBANG JAYA, JULY 10 2019: YOUR wishes for another year of finger-licking good durians are being fulfilled by the Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia; all for a good cause. Year-after-year wishes of terminally ill children across the country have been fulfilled because of the generous and continuous support for the cause.

CWS Malaysia, our national charity dedicated to bringing smiles back to the lives of children stricken with terminal illness has been working hard since its inception in 2007 to fulfill the wishes of those who are facing the bleakest moments in their lives. Over 800 children have had their wishes fulfilled with the society spending almost RM3.2mil in the last 12 years to bring that sparkle of a smile back.

The number of wishes the society has received is constantly growing; putting tremendous pressure on the society to raise sufficient funds to meet the hike in wishes that come our way from the far corners of Kangar in Perlis to Kudat in Sabah.

CWS Malaysia vice president TH Teoh said the continuous and unrelenting support in making wishes come true is crucial.

“The upcoming JOM Durian annual fundraising event in partnership with Summit USJ is becoming more important than ever to help us raise sufficient funds to meet the increasing number of wishes we are receiving from all over the country.”

“With the funds raised, it is our hope that we will be able to fulfill every wish we receive, no matter where they are coming from in the country,” he said.

Here’s what’s coming up this August 3 & 4 2019:

JOM DURIAN 12 is creating waves months ahead of its scheduled appearance on 3 & 4 Aug 2019 at Summit USJ to help raise much needed funds for The Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia to fulfill wishes of terminally ill children across the country for 2019-2020.

This annual fundraising event gathers people from all across the Klang Valley (and most times even supporters from around the country) to enjoy the King of Fruits for a good cause. Just for a RM40 donation, individuals can eat-all-they-can (durians) in one hour.

Corporate organisations can also support this event by sponsoring a table at RM5,000 which seats 10 pax on the day of the event and a corporate logo will be printed onto the T-Shirt.

We have also introduced Hot Seats since last year for members of the public who pay RM100 per person to enjoy the durian for up to 3 hours.
