In an effort to foster a stronger connection with nature and promote environmental conservation, the Lions Club of Subang Jaya organised a “Hike a Hill + Plant a Tree Day” at Taman Botani Negara, Shah Alam recently.
Sixty enthusiastic participants, including Lions, Leos, birders, families, and friends, gathered on a Sunday morning to immerse themselves in nature. The day’s activities kicked off with an exhausting two-hour hike up to Bukit Sapu Tangan. Along the trail, birders donned their impressive long lenses, captivated by the chance to spot migratory birds.
Later in the morning, the Lions started their tree planting project in collaboration with Taman Botani’s management. The participants planted a staggering total of 388 diverse shrubs and plants across various locations within Taman Botani.
Club President Lion Adrian Lim expressed a sense of exhaustion and fulfillment as he reflected on the successful Sunday morning project. He was pleased that the project gave the participants a deeper appreciation for nature and they left behind a greener Taman Botani.
