Making Merdeka Special

MERDEKA is the day we make things special in the community. And that’s exactly what communities of SS19/1 and SS15 did when they organised special events to commemorate August 31.

Over at SS19/1, the residents association took to the streets as early as 7am for a Merdeka walk around their neighbourhood. With the Jalur Gemilang in their hands, residents enjoyed a short but interesting walk together on this very special day for the nation. Students from Sekolah Sri Perdana also joined the walk with their neighbours.

The SS15/2 & SS15/3 Rukun Tetangga hosted their annual Merdeka Day vintage and classic cars parade with underprivileged children. The gathering was a hive of activities as guests and hosts sang patriotic songs before proceeding for the ride in the cars.

The underprivileged children were treated to lunch after the whole morning’s activities to celebrate Merdeka.
