THREE men found themselves hanging on for dear life in the cradle of a skylift while another worker was reeling in pain on the ground after he fell almost 8m to the ground when the telescoping section of the skylift broke.
Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Department station chief Syed Shahril Anuar Syed Sulaiman said the station received an emergency call at 10.04am and arrived at Taman Subang Heights within 10mins.
“On arrival, we found three men trapped in the cradle hanging about 8m from the ground while another victim was on the ground with a broken leg after he fell.”
“The injured victim was being treated by the paramedics from the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance,” he said.
Syed Shahril said rescue operations to bring the three men down safely was carried out with an Aerial Ladder Platform unit from the Fire & Rescue Department Petaling Jaya.
“The three men were unhurt but clearly shaken by the ordeal,” he said.
The 26-year-old worker who broke his leg said he fell when he couldn’t hold on any longer to the cradle. He said all four workers were going up to the roof of the house to prepare for installation of solar panels.
The man was rushed to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment.
