Yo, SS15 folks, ever walked that back lane behind Jalan SS15/4C-SS15/4E and got hit with a whiff that could knock out a mule? Yeah, those two stretches of drains are in shambles, and MBSJ MPP Zon 1 councillor Ken Chia just dropped the bomb: it’ll cost a whopping RM300,000 to sort this mess out.
The drains have seen better days, with broken bits causing that nasty stench every time you pass by – total buzzkill for the commercial hub. Ken says shoplot owners have gone rogue, slapping concrete slabs and extensions over the drains, blocking KDEB workers from doing their cleaning gig properly.
No more hiding the gunk! MBSJ’s engineering department is hacking those slabs pronto to let cleaners get in and scrub the years of buildup. “I will need to table a request for MBSJ to allocate a budget to address this urgently. We will start with these 2 drains along this back lane for this year,” Ken spilled.
This comes hot on the heels of SS15’s cries for help last year, where the community begged for action to revive Subang’s oldest hub. With Ken steering the ship this term, things are finally picking up speed – stay tuned, SS15 squad!
