The Lions Club of Subang Jaya (LCSJ), together with its twinning clubs, Lions Club of Taiwan Lungtan and Lions Club of Pearl of the Garden City, Guangdong, China, jointly donated RM15,000 to the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance.
The donation was made in conjunction with LCSJ’s 42nd anniversary celebration. Approximately 50 members and their families from the two sister clubs travelled to Malaysia for the anniversary and visited the ambulance’s home base.
LCSJ President Leong Jia Hui said, “the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance has been saving countless lives over the years. LCSJ has supported it since its inception, and today, we are honoured our twinning clubs from Taiwan and China have stepped forward to share this commitment with us.”
Lion Leong also shared personal stories of how the ambulance service has given urgent medical aid to club members and their families.
Kelvin Chew, who is the operations director for the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance, expressed gratitude for the donation, stating that this was the first time the ambulance service had received contributions from international organisations.
“We are deeply touched by the kindness of the Lions from Taiwan and China. Their support is invaluable to our mission of providing free ambulance services to the community. ROAR! ROAR! ROAR! to the three clubs,” Chew said.
The donation will further strengthen the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance’s ability to provide essential emergency medical services to the residents of Subang Jaya.
