SUBANG Jaya is exploring ways to provide more room for pedestrians and cyclists on public roads, according to Mayor Dato Johary Anuar.
“We are exploring how we can provide safe access for pedestrians and cyclists on our roads. This will encourage people to leave their cars at home.”
“This will help us ease the congestion on roads as well as the pressure on providing more parking space for cars,” he said to reporters after completing a few rounds of cycling at the second Car Free Day in SS16 last Sunday.
On the response to the Car Free Day program, Johary said he was happy with the response from the public and is enthusiastic that participation in future programs will increase.
“We will have more activities and offerings as this program progresses. We hope to see more residents coming out to enjoy the program,” he said.
Also present at the program were ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng and MBSJ MPP Zon 1 councillor Ken Chia.
