Artist impression of the Klinik Kesihatan main building
SUBANG Jaya’s long-awaited Klinik Kesihatan which is to be built in USJ1 is definitely on, says Subang MP Wong Chen.
“It’s definitely on. The awarding of the contract was to be concluded at the end of February and normally, mobilisation work should start within a month.”
“The maximum duration for the construction of the klinik Kesihatan should be 36 months. If they work faster, maybe it will take 2.5 years to be completed,” he said, adding that the RM50mil klinik kesihatan should be fully operational by then.
“We have also proposed a klinik kesihatan for Bandar Kinrara. The Government has agreed in principle that there’s a need for it to cater to the people in the area as well.”
“We have identified the location. We have written in to the Economic and Health Minister to get their approval. Once done, the fight then starts to get the budget,” he said.
According to Wong Chen, the Kinrara Klinik Kesihatan may take three years to get to the design and tender stage.
“Six years from now, the Klinik Kesihatan in Kinrara will be ready. I wish it can be faster but I am giving a realistic timeline. The klinik kesihatan may be slightly smaller than USJ1.”
“They have other nearby klinik kesihatan to cater to their health needs. Kinrara residents are not as affluent as those in Subang Jaya but the ageing population is higher in the latter,” he added.
In February, Wong Chen had a one-to-one Special Chambers meeting with the Deputy Minister of Health Dato Lukanisman bin Awang Sauni to iron out and seek details for Subang Jaya’s Klinik Kesihatan and also propose another Klinik Kesihatan for Kinrara.
