HERE’S some good news to share! Motorists heading out to Persiaran Kewajipan via Persiaran Subang Permai daily for work can soon look forward to a new flyover that is anticipated to ease the congestion especially during peak hours.
Here’s the not so good news. Construction of the flyover is expected to take two years to complete. During the construction phase, congestion is expected to worsen as traffic flow would have to be modified and diverted.
“The ramp will begin between Mydin USJ1 and Decathlon. The gradient of the ramp will be about seven percent as it heads to Persiaran Kewajipan.”
“There will also be a slip flyover from Persiaran Subang (from USJ) which will join the main flyover at the intersection of the two roads,” he said to SJECHO.
Kamarul said the flyover project is expected to begin by the end of this year after the project tender is finalized by September.
“The pedestrian bridge across Persiaran Subang Permail between the USJ7 LRT Station and Da Men Mall will have to be designed and realigned to accommodate the height of the flyover which will be passing overhead.”
“MBSJ also considered extending the flyover to Persiaran Murni (towards USJ2/USJ6) but the cost is too high to do so,” he added.
According to Kamarul, the design of the flyover was now at the final stage.
“We hope that this new flyover once completed will help alleviate the daily traffic congestion along Persiaran Subang Permai from USJ1 towards Persiaran Kewajipan that we have had for the last 10 years.”
Kamarul urged motorists to be patient during the flyover construction phase and to obey all traffic signs put up by MBSJ.
“We will update motorists on the traffic flow and diversions during the construction phase. Once the flyover is completed, we will all enjoy better traffic flow along this stretch,” he said.
