Vitamin C for Cops Just in Time for Ramadan

WITH the fasting month just two days away, the timely delivery of 1,500 tubes of Vitamin Cs for our men and women in blue by the Lions Club of Subang Jaya will go a long way in keeping them healthy and active.

In a collaboration between consumer goods giant, Procter & Gamble, and the Lions Club of Subang Jaya, 1,500 tubes of Vitamin Cs were handed to the police officers of Subang Jaya district.

The Cebion Vitamin Cs were handed over by Lions Club of Subang Jaya President Adrian Lim to Deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Fairus Jaafar at IPD Subang Jaya.

Mohd Fairus remarked that with the upcoming Ramadan month, the donated Vitamin C will be helpful in keeping his officers healthy.

In this private sector and NGO collaboration, Lions Clubs International District 308 B2, through 15 participating clubs, distributed 36,000 tubes of Vitamin C to welfare homes, B40 families and front liners. The vitamins were donated by P&G.

Vitamin C is needed for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of our body. It is used to form an important protein used to make skin, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. It also helps to heal wounds and form scar tissue. Severe Vitamin C deficiency, called scurvy, causes bruising, gum and dental problems, dry hair and skin, and anemia.
