Work Progressing on USJ1 Health Clinic Site

Work on the long-awaited RM50mil Klinik Kesihatan USJ1 has visibly moved forward in recent months.

A visit to the site in October revealed that the entire area has been cleared of vegetation, paving the way for the next stage of construction. Piling work for the foundation of the main building appears to have begun, with the site boundary for the clinic’s main structure now clearly demarcated.

Located in the heart of USJ1, the clinic project is expected to significantly improve access to public healthcare for residents in the Subang Jaya area once completed.

The development, which was first reported by SJ Echo earlier this year, marks a long-anticipated milestone for the community after years of calls for a government health facility within the vicinity.

Residents are hopeful that with steady progress on site, the Klinik Kesihatan USJ1 will soon become a reality serving the growing healthcare needs of the local population.

The “Jenis 2” Klinik Kesihatan, essentially a mini-hospital is expected to take 24 months to complete and will be able to serve up to 800 patients a day once operational. It will house outpatient and emergency departments, a drive-thru pharmacy, imaging services, maternal and child healthcare, dental, pathology, and rehabilitation facilities.

The Klinik Kesihatan will be built on a 4.238-acre (17,140 sq m) land in USJ1 approximately the size of two football fields, next to SJK (C) Chee Wen. It will also provide 160 parking bays for vehicles, including designated bays for persons with disabilities (OKU) and 31 bays for motorcycles. Additionally, the new facility will be equipped with a garage for five ambulances.

The efforts to establish this health clinic for the community have been ongoing for over a decade, starting during the tenure of former ADUN Subang Jaya Dato Lee Hwa Beng, continued through former ADUN Subang Jaya Hannah Yeoh’s term, and are now being led by Subang MP Wong Chen and ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng.
