What first appeared to be a tragic case of suicide in a quiet home in USJ 2 has been confirmed as murder.
Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the case is now being investigated as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Wan Azlan said on August 14, just before noon, a father made the horrifying discovery of his daughter, a woman in her 20s, hanging from a ceiling fan in the living room on the second floor of her family’s house at USJ 2/1. Paramedics who arrived at the scene confirmed she was dead.
“The autopsy at Hospital Serdang revealed a chilling truth. The victim did not take her own life. Forensic experts determined the cause of death as “manual strangulation,” with injuries to the neck and surrounding muscles consistent with deliberate force.”
“The victim suffered bleeding around the hyoid bone. This points to strangulation by another person, not self-inflicted injury,” he confirmed.
According to Wan Azlan, the victim lived with her sister and cousin but was alone when the incident occurred. He said the house was the family’s and confirmed that nothing had been stolen.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive and identify those responsible.
