Police Destroy RM1.24mil Worth of Seized Items

SUBANG Jaya police destroyed RM1.24mil worth of seized items from 179 cases for 2020 and 2021 which had seen their day in court.

Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the items were destroyed after criminal charges had been brought to court and concluded with prosecution of those charged with the crime.

“The items were confiscated and used as evidence in the criminal court of law. These include for illegal online gambling, bitcoin, contraband (alcohol and cigarettes) and others.”

“We received the orders to destroy and dispose the items from the public prosecutor,” he said.

Wan Azlan said 1,078 desktops, laptops and mobile phones worth RM744,600 and cash RM27,807 were seized in raids from 2020 to 2021.

“1479 bottles of contraband liquor and 1863 cartons of contraband cigarettes worth RM418,000 were seized during the same period.”

“113 bitcoin machines worth RM51,000 were seized,” he added.
