PM-International Malaysia donated a whopping RM500,000 to Selangor Cheshire Home recently in support of the mentally disabled.
Witnessed by the Regent of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, PM-International Malaysia CEO Paul Yung handed the mock-cheque over to the home’s president Datin Paduka Khatijah Sulaiman.
“We have always supported local charities, and Cheshire Home is a deserving charity headed by an inspirational woman and leader. Since 1963, she has strived to create opportunities and care for the mentally disabled residents she calls her ‘children regardless of race and religion,” Paul said.
“We hope that this donation will help alleviate the financial pressures put on Cheshire Home’s operations by the Covid-19 pandemic and allow the caretakers and folks working at Cheshire to focus on the most important task at hand, giving the very best care to the residents,” he added.
The donation will go towards residential care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, counselling and Job coaching for its Economic Empowerment Programme (EEP) trainees.
PM-International is also the largest global corporate sponsor of World Vision, sponsoring more than 5,200 children worldwide, and also locally sponsors the National Cancer Society of Malaysia.
