CITTA Mall Collaborates With 8 Leo Clubs In Selangor For Its ‘Spotlight On Children’ CSR Effort
THIRTY FIVE children from Klang Utama Caring Home had an early Christmas to remember when they were treated to a fun-filled day trip at CITTA Mall recently.
The CSR effort propagated by CITTA Mall and eight Leo Clubs in Selangor is called “Spotlight on Children” and continues to highlight the plight of communities in need for the third year running.
With CITTA Mall’s tenants joining up in arms to entertain the home, the children were first taken to Blokke. Cafe to have a wild time at the indoor playground, then feted to lunch at McDonald’s, before traversing into the unknown at MBO Cinemas where they watched Disney’s “Frozen 2”.
The children also learnt how to make Christmas handicrafts and walked home with gift bags at the end of the day. “With our malls, we always try to work as a community, for the community,” comments June Lim, the Malaysian Country Head for ARA Asset Management Limited (ARA). “This is why it is important for us that we are able to rally our tenants to make our CSR efforts more meaningful for those in need, and we’re glad that we have tenants who are supportive of such efforts.”
Present at the event were 40 volunteers from the respective schools: SMK Bandar Utama Damansara 3, SMK Seafield, Assunta Secondary School, SMK USJ 8, SMK USJ 4, Sri KL, SMK Taman SEA and SMK Subang Utama.
SMK Bandar Utama Damansara 3 Leo Club Organising Chairperson Chua Li Lian was thankful that the club was able to work with the mall in reaching out to the less fortunate. “I think it’s a great opportunity for our members to interact with organisations like Klang Utama Caring Home, because they’re a reminder of the various privileges that we constantly
