Community Ambulance Continues to Serve During the MCO

SUBANG Jaya’s Community Ambulance team continues to serve, to strive and not to yield during the duration of the movement control order.

Members of the crew respond to medical and motor-vehicular accidents despite the looming risk of the Covid-19 pandemic every time to answer the call of duty.

All medical team members attached with the community ambulance are taking no risks when they respond to an emergency. The Ministry of Health has advised that all first responders should now don personal protective equipment to protect themselves from the risk of being exposed to Covid-19.

Sponsorships have streamed in from various individuals and organisations to help protect the team:

  1. ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng handed over a batch of N95 masks;
  2. PPE suits from Malaysian Red Crescent;
  3. Face Masks and surgical gloves from JKP Zone 4;
  4. Infrared thermometers, surgical gowns, face masks and surgical gloves from Sukee Subang Jaya & Shanghai Sukee;
  5. Face shields and PPE suits from USJ5 residents;
  6. PPE suits from Lions Club of Subang Jaya; and
  7. Plastic aprons (sleeveless), Alcohol sanitizers and Face shields from Sunway Medical Centre.

“Our team is constantly exposed to health risks when responding to emergencies during these trying times. We have to protect them in order to save lives out there.”

“We welcome any contributions to help us save lives out there,” SJ Beacon operations director Kelvin Chew said.
