USJ5 RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION
DONATIONS have almost reached the RM100,000 mark, a month after the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance appealed for public support to keep its medical emergency services going.
SJ Beacon, Subang Jaya Community Ambulance acting chairman TH Teoh said members of the public have been banking in their donations in response to the earlier appeal for help.
“The response has been encouraging. Individuals, mainly Subang Jaya residents have been showing their support. They have been banking in their donations in response to our appeal.”
“We have also received generous support from Residents Association and Rukun Tetangga groups,” he said.
One of the highest contributions came from the USJ5 Residents Association which raised a whopping RM38,000 from their neighbourhood. The association pooled together RM34,102 while another RM3,898 was topped up by its president Dato Jimmy Lim, who made the contribution in his capacity as Tokai Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd group chief executive officer.
Lim threw his support behind the cause as he believed that companies and communities should work together to overcome challenges that come their way.
Another generous donation was received from the USJ17 Cove Residents Association. Its chairman Choo Seng Hock handed over a cheque for RM18,000. The donation was raised from residents in the neighbourhood.
“If you are unfortunately stricken by a mishap and require an ambulance. It’s not the private hospitals that are sending an ambulance. It will be 999 sending an ambulance and in Subang Jaya, it’s likely our community ambulance responding. “
“In recent times, some of our residents have had the community ambulance come to attend to their emergencies. We are grateful and feel safer with the existence of the community ambulance service,” Choo said.
