SUBANG JAYA: LANCE Corporal Meor Moisshamsiq Zaini from Balai Polis Subang Jaya in SS17 risked his life and limb while attempting to apprehend two burglary suspects in SS14 last March.
Meor, who responded to a break-in at SS14 on March 28, was struck by the fleeing getaway vehicle. The suspects, in a desperate attempt to escape, ran over him with their car, causing serious injuries and completely destroying his motorcycle.
Meor has had to borrow a ride from his friends in the meantime when he carries out his duties.
While justice is being pursued in court with the suspects now facing additional charges of attempted murder, Subang MP Wong Chen is calling on the community to rally behind the injured officer.
Wong Chen has stepped forward with a contribution of RM5,000 towards purchasing a new motorcycle for Meor. The cost of a replacement bike is estimated at RM13,000, and a balance of RM8,000 is now needed.

The appeal will close once the RM8,000 target is achieved.
“We will take the responsibility of handling the donations and once the targeted amount is achieved, we will close the donation drive. The funds raised will be handed to Meor to purchase his new ride,” Wong Chen said.
