Lions Clubs of Subang Jaya and Lung Tang, Taiwan Celebrate 27 Years of Friendship

This year, our local club, the Lions Club of Subang Jaya celebrated 27 years of twinning relationship with The Lions Club of Lung Tang, Taiwan. While twinning arrangements between Lions clubs from different regions are relatively common, the connection between these two clubs runs deep with traditions.

Over nearly three decades, both Lions clubs have maintained a strong and enduring relationship. They have without fail visited each other annually, with only a two-year hiatus in 2020 and 2021, due to the COVID19 pandemic.

This year, the Lions Club of Lung Tang sent a delegation of 30 Lion members and their families to visit Subang Jaya.

During their visit, a courtesy visit was arranged for the Lions from Taiwan to tour the Subang Jaya fire station. They were warmly received by Tuan Syed, the station chief, who guided them through the facility and exchanged mementos.

Lion Chiu Ching-Lun, the President of the Lions Club of Lung Tang, expressed his admiration for the professionalism of the Subang Jaya firemen and the maintenance of their equipment. He also revealed that he and a few other club members present that day were volunteer firemen in Taiwan, highlighting their shared dedication to community service.

The visit culminated with a ride up the Bomba’s Aerial Ladder Platform, providing the Presidents from both clubs a bird’s-eye view of Subang Jaya and a wefie photo to remember.
