TWO new LED Lions were “brought to life” at Guan Di Temple Bandar Sunway’s Chinese New Year celebrations which took place on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year.
The lion dotting ceremony was performed by ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng and Subang MP Wong Chen, an awakening ritual symbolizing the life-giving to the lions.
Both Michelle and Wong Chen, accompanied by temple chairman Koay Teng Koon also graced the launch of the Guan Di Cultural Centre exhibition which provides a detailed account of the deity and the cultural as well as religious aspects of its origins.
With all the formalities done away with, the celebrations began with lions prancing all over the temple; playing with the crowd that had gathered for prayers and to also enjoy the activities that were lined up till lunch.
