The Pied Pipers of Subang Jaya have returned after a two-year hiatus, leading a successful rat extermination drive in the notorious SS15 commercial area.
The event, held in the bustling SS15 commercial hub known for its persistent rodent problem, saw participants wielding gloves, tongs, and wheelbarrows to retrieve the dead rodents which had been baited the night before.
By the end, the effort netted nearly 300 dead rodents, proving the power of collective action in urban cleanup.
This programme marks a revival after similar drives in prior years, including 2024 campaigns at Pasar Awam SS15 that bagged over 400 rats by the Housing and Local Government Ministry with MBSJ.
Ken, who chairs MPP Zon 1 covering SS12 to SS19, thanked MBSJ’s Health Department for proactive support in tallying and handling the catch.
The overwhelming turnout underscores a key lesson: more hands make lighter work in ridding Subang Jaya of pests and fostering cleaner streets.
