RM28,000 Worth of School Essentials Distributed at SJBA Educare

SEVERAL hundred underprivileged school-going children from Subang Jaya and surrounding areas will start the new school term in 2024 with new shoes, a school bag and stationery thanks to the Subang Jaya Buddhist Association’s annual Educare initiative.

Costing close to RM28,000, the annual program according to SJBA chairman Chim Siew Choon was to give a helping hand to families who were financially stretched out to provide the basic items for their child’s new school term.

“With this assistance, we hope we can help lighten the financial expenses of underprivileged families and also make sure the basic needs of students are met when they begin their school term in the New Year.”

“The funds are raised from members and sponsors. We identify needy students who require assistance from us,” he said during the handing over of items to students.

Also present was ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng and MBSJ MPP Zone 1 councillor Ken Chia.
