According to a statement issued by the Penang Hill Corporation corporate communications unit, the railway operations will return to normal after the maintenance works end on Jan 15, 2020.
“Scheduled maintenance works will be conducted under the supervision of the funicular manufacturer company, Garaventa AG from Switzerland,” the statement said.
During this period, visitors can use the jeep services provided by private companies from the Botany Park, or hike up the hill.
