Residents of PJS9 woke up bright and early on August 31 to mark Malaysia’s 68th year of independence with a colourful Merdeka 2025 Fun Walk that celebrated unity, peace, and harmony.
The event, organised by MPP Zon 2 and PJS9 Rukun Tetangga, drew a lively crowd dressed in striking black T-shirts emblazoned with hibiscus motifs — Malaysia’s national flower. Each participant proudly carried the Jalur Gemilang, waving the flag as they walked through their neighbourhood streets in a show of patriotism.
The walk started at Padang Jalan PJS 9/20 and concluded at Rock Cafe, Jalan PJS 11/20, where a morning of fun and fellowship awaited. Along the way, participants soaked up the festive spirit, pausing for photos and greeting neighbours in a true kampung-style camaraderie.
Adding to the merriment were highlights such as Zumba sessions, patriotic songs, plenty of food, and lucky draws. The event, open to residents of PJS 7, PJS 9, PJS 11, and Lagoon Perdana, also came with a special perk — free limited-edition T-shirts for early registrants.
More than just a walk, the Merdeka 2025 Fun Walk served as a reminder of what independence stands for — togetherness, resilience, and shared pride in the nation’s journey.
