POPULAR NEW EATERY IN SS19 SHUT DOWN BY MBSJ

SUBANG JAYA, February 19 2025: A newly opened eatery in SS19 which has been making waves in Subang Jaya has been ordered to cease their operations by the Subang Jaya City Council for various offences under the council’s bylaws and guidelines – no business licence; no advertising licence and carrying out renovations to the building which did not adhere to the guidelines provided by the council.

In a statement which was released by MBSJ earlier this afternoon, the council said the business operator of the eatery was ordered to cease their operations as they had not obtained a business licence.

“The eatery was ordered to cease operations immediately for having not complied with UUK 3 Undang – Undang Kecil Pelesenan Establisymen Makanan MBSJ 2007 which required it to obtain a business licence before opening for business.”

“On Feb 18, our enforcement team also took down the advertisement signage on the building as the business operator had not obtained the proper approvals to put it up,” the statement said.

MBSJ said on January 21 2025, it had issued a notice to the business operator under UUK 7 Undang-Undang Kecil Iklan MBSJ 2007 notifying the latter that they could not put up the advertising board without a licence.

“The business operator was given until Feb 3 2025 to comply but they failed to meet the deadline.”

“The operator faces a fine of RM1,000 for non-compliance under UUK 21 Undang-Undang Kecil Iklan MBSJ 2007,” it said.

MBSJ also said the Jalan SS19/6 building owner had also been issued a notice to vacate and demolish the building under Akta Jalan Parit dan Bangunan (AKTA 133).

“The owner of the property had made renovations which did not adhere to the approved building plans. They have been given 30 days from the notice issued to remove and demolish the renovated parts of the building which did not comply with the guidelines issued by MBSJ.

“Property owners are advised to adhere to the guidelines provided by MBSJ and also to obtain approvals before starting work. Stern action will be taken against those who ignore it,” MBSJ said.
